I came from Thailand for about eight months ago. I am studying at MATC. I'm learning how to type on the computer, doing spelling lessons and learning how to speak. The teachers are doing a very good job. When I first got here in the United States, I couldn’t understand what people were saying.  Ever since I came to study at MATC, when I hear people speak English, I am beginning to understand a little bit. I really want this class to continue so we can continue to improve our English. I want to be able to communicate and understand others. Please continue to fund this class so we have teachers to teach us for 5-6 hours per days and improve faster. Thank you very much.

I am very happy that I came to study at MATC. My studies are going well. I really want the government to give us money to support our education so we can learn more English. I still want MATC to teach us some more. In addition, I like the Hmong teacher teaching us because if I don't understand certain things, I can ask the Hmong teacher to explain and translate for us right away. I want this class on-going so we can learn how to speak English just like other people from different countries, too. Thank you very much.

My name is Yeng. I am a refugee in America. I live in Madison, WI. The MATC class helps and teaches me a couple of thing. When it comes what I have learned, I need more time to improve. I wish to learn some more to really see my progress and see if I can really help myself. I want to have this kind of funding to support ESL students like us in the future.

I am very happy to have come to the United States of America. I have the opportunity to study at MATC and I am honored. MATC has helped to improve my English a little but most of all to forget my problems; moreover, I would like the teachers continue to teach us more. I am so happy that I now know more English than when I was still in Thailand.

I am a family man with many children, but I am also a very school-oriented person. I want to preserve our culture and resolve clan and community issues. MATC has helped me abundantly with math, reading, social studies, writing, science and ESL. Right now I am working in Pre-GED materials and plan to become a teacher, a nurse or an auto mechanic. I want to encourage the government to fund more educational programs to help the Hmong and other ethnic groups as well. The benefits of education are many. It helps a person to see farther in life, to advance in education, to develop independence, and to create a business for financial freedom. Last but certainly not least, I would like the government to continue funding programs to help the Hmong. Thank you very much.

I am Chia Pao Lor. I think the class is very good. I am taking an ESL class and using the Learning Center as well. I only attended the MATC Bi-lingual class a couple of times because I am at a higher level. I did learn something in the class because it is a part of my education. We should have this class again for the lower level Hmong students. I want to learn in order to get a good job in the future and to be able to talk to the doctors in the hospital. This class helped me in general so I can help my kids with their school assignments.
