On-Line GED/HSED
The On-Line GED/HSED
is offered free to all Wisconsin students. (Students
from other states may use the site but cannot register at MATC) Call
the College Preparedness and Academic Advancement Center (formerly ALD) office at (608) 258-2440 or stop in room
D209 at the Downtown Madison campus to find out how to register.
When you register,
you will be given the name of your advisor.
When you are working with an
advisor using these materials and Blackboard, you must use an MATC
network password. No password is necessary to just use this
website.
All registered students can activate an account for free by going to the
MATC home page at
Student Account Activation
If you already have a @stu.matcmadison.edu
email account, you DO NOT have to re-activate.
Once you have activated your
account, use it to let us know by sending an email to your
advisor, or to Jim Stickels.
You must re-register for each semester.
If you are a student who does not live Wisconsin, you may use any materials that you find
helpful from this site. Check with the
Department of Education or State Education Agency in your state to find
educational assistance and testing centers.

On-line Worksheets and
Tutoring
The
worksheets are for adult students working on their GED or HSED. The tutoring
is through My Skills Tutor.
On-Line Demos and Websites are listed for additional instruction.
The worksheets are in Word. You can print them out or you can do them
on your computer. If you type in your answers on the computer, you must save
the worksheets on your computer to save your answers.
On-line Grading
Registered students will be given an S
for satisfactory progress each semester by turning in a least two
worksheets or putting in at least two hours in My Skills Tutor during the semester. You will receive a P for passing this
course when you return proof
of completing the related GED or Wisconsin HSED test to the Learning Center.
GED and
HSED testing is done at the Testing Center.

Wisconsin
HSED Civics
The
civics lesson worksheets do not include answers. Your instructor will
correct lessons. He or she may pass you in this section (based on
at least 30 hours of work) so you do not have to take the exam in civic
literacy for the HSED.

Area Technical College CPAA courses are offered
tuition-free (A small materials fee may be charged). To register, students must

High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)
Individuals who wish to obtain an HSED must pass all the GED
requirements and meet requirements in health, civic literacy and
employability skills. |
