Personal Education Plan (PEP)
Print out in Word and staple into a manila folder for use with students in lab settings.

Transition Form
This is a friendly reminder to keep track of your students (not Truax) who intend to transition to higher education opportunities within one year.

This information is due to Lynn Shafel when you close-out for the semester.  (You can give the form to Jose, too.)  MATC's Research and Planning will then follow outcomes for these students four years.

How do you keep track of this information?  Use the data collection
form
(print version)

This data has been collected since Spring 97/98, and it has been vital
in showing the rest of the institution and our federal and state funding
sources that ALD students successfully transition to programs/courses at
MATC.

Call me if you have questions at (608) 259-2945 or send me an email.

Let's keep up the good work!

Lynn Shafel

PS  TRUAX INSTRUCTORS - you do not have to fill out the forms-students
on your class rosters who do not have a program code will be counted for
this data effort.

Payroll Info for Part-time Instructors
Click on image for sample timesheet.

If you are subbing for someone, please make sure to write the hours in the blue section on your timesheet and label it "subbing for (persons name)". If you know the 9-digit course number, please write it down (I do not want 5-digit class IDs).

Also, if you are subbing for someone who is assigned to multiple numbers for one class, you only need to list ONE (1) number. If you are subbing for more than one class, then list one course number for each class that you subbed for.

If you have sick hours or holiday hours, write the hours in the blue section on your timesheet and label it "sick time" or "holiday".

If you ever have questions on filling out your timesheet(s), please feel free to contact me at 608-259-2907 or skuehn@matcmadison.edu. I am be happy to assist you with your payroll needs. Shana L. Kuehn, MATC Alternative Learning Division

Procedures for volunteers in the classroom.

Anyone who would like a volunteer in the classroom should  request a volunteer.  From there, the office staff person will contact potential tutor volunteers and match them up according to the teacher needs, the student needs and the volunteer needs (levels, hours, subjects, etc.).

Our volunteers fill out an application, have a reference check done and go through tutor training.  They, also, have a good command of the English language and strong communication skills.

If you have requested a classroom volunteer and have not received one, it is because there are no available tutors to do classroom assisting.  A lot of our volunteers are full time students, have full time jobs, or both.  If you
have any question or comments regarding the Volunteer Tutor Program, please contact Mike Priebe in room D207.

WIDS Website
WIDS provides advanced tools and personal support to elevate learning at your organization. WIDS brings together curriculum-design software, training and consulting services to help clients through the entire process of course and program development.

Our History
WIDS is unique in that it is part of the Wisconsin Technical College System Foundation, Inc. (WTCSF), a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of education. In 1993, Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges partnered with WTCSF to create and implement a performance-based instructional design system appropriate for both education and industry. A statewide advisory team from Wisconsin’s technical colleges, K-12 schools and industry, collaborated to build best practices and proven teaching and learning theories into WIDS curriculum-design software. That advisory team remains an integral part of WIDS by helping to constantly improve WIDS software, training and consulting services.

Today, WIDS serves clients in 33 states and six foreign countries.
