Criteria---Performance will be satisfactory when:
a you calculate with whole numbers.
b you perform addition and subtraction with whole numbers at a minimum of 70% accuracy on an assessment with 10 or more items.


Conditions---Competence will be demonstrated:
a in the calculation of addition and subtraction with whole numbers.
b with or without a calculator.
c with or without a computer.
d collaboratively or individually.
e in math class/lab, workplace, home, and other real-life situations.

Learning Objectives
This learning plan addresses the following learning objectives to help you master the competency:
a. Add whole numbers up to at least 3 digits including regrouping
b. Subtract whole numbers up to at least 3 digits including regrouping.
c. Use rounding to estimate the result of addition and subtraction problems.
d. Identify key words for choosing appropriate operation in word problems.
e. Solve applied word problems for each operation in mixed word problems and those containing two steps.
f. Perform calculator operations.
