a. in the employment of a variety of vocabulary development strategies to determine the meanings of unknown words.
b. in the small groups.
c. in the classroom.

Criteria - Performance will be satisfactory when:
a. learner employs a variety of vocabulary development strategies to determine the meaning of unknown words.
b. learner successfully uses the four common types of context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words.
c. learner identifies the correct meanings of prefixes, suffixes and roots
d. learner attains a minimum score of 80% on all practice exercises, quizzes and exams.
e. learner attains a score of 60 on the Compass and 40 on the ASSET test.

b. learner completes the main idea mastery tests in Ten Steps to Advancing College Reading Skills, pages 69-80 with 80% correct
c. learner completes the supporting detail mastery tests in Ten Steps to Advancing College Reading Skills, pages 107-118 with 80% correct.
d. learner completes the implied main and idea and central point mastery tests with 80% correct.
e. learner completes a relationships mastery tests with at least 80% accuracy .
