Bienvenue!  Welcome!!

This site has been created for anyone interested in this educational travel experience. We hope this provides more information about the places we will visit in Paris and the French countryside. We also give you some links to other information available on the internet.  Please see the International Programs web page for information about other educational travel opportunities at MATC.  You may access this through the MATC home page:  http://matcmadison.edu

What’s New:  April/May 2009

PREPARATION:   We hope you are spending the weekend preparing for the trip and getting packed.  That is what we are doing this weekend.  Be sure to check out the weather in France to help you figure what items you might need. Remember to bring an umbrella and rain jacket, a hat for sun and something for sleeping ( we left that off our checklist).

FRENCH ODYSSEY 2009:  Our departure is less than five days from today.  Meet us at the Memorial Union at 9:30 am on Thursday, May 14.  We'll hand out your tickets, bag tag and give you final instructions about our flight.  Consult the departure letter we sent out last week via e-mail for information about what we'll be doing on May 14, our travel day .

EUROS:  We recommend M & I Bank at Hilldale for helping you exchange dollars for Euros.   The euro has gone up 10 cents in value in the last week so you will now pay more for Euros. We hope you were able to purchase them last week when the exchange rate was better.  We'll keep you updated via e-mail about this.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:  Contact Mary or Sandy for information about travel insurance. If you are planning on traveling with us in May, we recommend that you look into purchasing travel insurance.

FORMS:  We have sent you all the required forms over the last few months.  These include a Waiver of Liability which is required by the college for all participants,  participant contract, emergency contact form, , two copies of your passport and proof of health insurance coverage while abroad.    And we really appreciate your cooperation in this effort. click here for the participant contract.

PASSPORTS:  if you do not currently have a passport, please apply for one as soon as possible.  If your current passport is set to expire within six months of our departure date, e.g. it expires in November, 2009 or earlier, you must renew your passport in order to return to the US at the end of our trip (May 24) Contact Mary or Sandy for information about how to apply for or renew your passport.  It now takes at least two months to do either of these things.

WEB ACCESS: We are currently in the process of updating and overhauling our website.  Should you encounter difficulty in accessing any parts of this site, please contact us.  We know that dial up modems have some difficulties accessing our site.We also know that some browsers work better than others for accessing the site.  Stay tuned for our new look.  It will be easier to use.
