A Triangle Sheer... Drag the red point. How is the area of the triangle affected? (The red line is parallel to the base.)

Variable height triangle with fixed base.

Do 3 Points always determine a triangle?

Heron's Formula for triangle area,
T=(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))½
where s=P/2 =½(a+b+c), is half the perimeter.

The centroid is the intersection of the medians. (The center of mass of homogeneous material) The orthocenter is the intersection of the altitudes. The circumcenter is the intersection of the perpendicular bisectors of the sides. See circle.
