Multiply Decimals
Multiplication of decimals is very similar to that of whole numbers. The only
difference here is that we need to count decimal places; otherwise it's exactly
the same as multiplying whole numbers.
To multiply decimals:
- In the numbers being multiplied, count the number of places to the right
of the decimal points.
- Ignoring any decimal points, multiply the numbers.
- Place a decimal point in the product so that it has the same number of
places to the right of it as the total number of places found in step
1.
